Greetings! my name is James Kohlbrenner and I am honored to teach physical education at Rocky Mountain Elementary. I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sport Sciences with a specialization in physical education. I also received an endorsement to teach adapted physical education and a personal trainer/fitness counselor certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. I have taught physical education for 15 years in elementary and middle schools. I have also been coaching various youth athletics for over 9 years. When I am not at school, I enjoy serving our community as the President of a nonprofit charitable corporation called HELPCO.
Our physical education program is designed so that all students will learn about the benefits of fitness and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. My lessons are based on the standards set by the state for each grade level and our student needs. Our school will offer a variety of sports clubs that will give your child an opportunity to have more access to activities that supplement what we learn in our physical education class. More information will be sent home regarding the free after school activities in September. We will also have a field day in May to showcase what we learned during the school year. This is going to be a great year for your child at Rocky Mountain Elementary. I look forward to meeting you at one of our schools many events. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
