Hello! I am excited to be a part of the Rocky Mountain Family this year as a Social Emotional Learning Specialist! This is a new role to Adams 12, and it involves working with teachers to support their implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices in their classroom. I will also be working with students in small groups and in a 1 on 1 setting to further develop their skills. I have spent 5 years in the classroom as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher in Adams 12, and I am excited to continue my teaching career in this new role!
I am a Colorado native, but I ventured out to North Carolina (go Tarheels!) for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and returned home upon graduation because I missed this beautiful state. I received my Master's Degree in 2018 from CU Denver in Education and Human Development with an emphasis in Learning. When I'm not at school, I am usually with my friends and family at a concert, at the movies, doing yoga, and cheering on the Broncos, Nuggets, and Tarheels! I truly believe that social and emotional skills are the foundation to a successful academic career and life outside the classroom, and I look forward to sharing my passion for SEL with the students and staff at Rocky Mountain!
