Kids Heart Challenge
Kids Heart Challenge is here! Our students are learning how to keep their hearts and brains healthy and raising funds to help kids with special hearts. We're asking all families to register and complete Finn's mission to learn Hands-Only CPR. All students who register will receive a free wristband. The class with the most registrations will win a class party as well as the class with the most donations. With a $25 donation, your child will get to pie a teacher in the face!

Act Now! Contact your legislators about rejecting Governor Polis’ proposal to cut $13 million from our schools
In an effort to address a $1 billion state shortfall, Governor Jared Polis’ budget proposal, if supported by the Legislature, would amount to a $13 million dollar cut to school funding in the Five Star District.
In order to save money, the governor proposes to do away with “enrollment averaging” when funding schools. Enrollment averaging over several years reduces year-to-year pendulum swings in funding, allowing for thoughtful and informed budget decision-making. Currently, 142 of the 178 school districts in Colorado or 80% are funded on an enrollment average.
If the Legislature supports this cut, for many school districts and schools, it would result in larger class sizes and limit student choice through the elimination of electives and extracurricular programs with modest participation levels.
You can make a difference! Write or call your legislators to voice your concerns. Take action here.
Take Care,
Kate Vogel, Principal
