Dear Parents,

Happy May and a Happy Mother's Day early. The weather has been so nice, the early birds are chirping, the Rockies are back, but we are reading, writing, learning, and working here at school. Please help by making sure your child is in school each day on time and ready to learn. And please keep reading to and with your children as well as listening to them read each evening.

This is our last newsletter for this school year. I want to take this opportunity to let you know, as my fourth year at Rocky Mountain begins to wind down, how much your children and our staff mean to me. Our dedicated, hard-working parents are so positively involved. I am so grateful for the ACT and the SIT parents' extra help and for their guidance for our school. I welcome conversation or notes with your ideas to let me know what I should keep doing and what you would like to see more (or less) of. I will be grateful for your feedback.

Please note that our Celebration of Learning Night is Thursday, May 15 and our field day is Monday, June 2. Mr. James will be getting more information to you soon. I look forward to seeing many of you at both of these events!

If you have accessed the website for third grade reading CSAP scores, you have seen that our scores, while lower in proficient and advanced than last year, our partially proficient and advanced scores are nearly the same. We also must remember that every year in third grade, this is a new group of students and this is their first CSAP experience. These scores let us know what areas to increase our instruction. Our scores for writing, math, and reading for 3 rd , 4 th , and 5 th grades will be released in August.

Let me know any questions, comments, and concerns. Our next School Improvement Team (SIT) Meeting will be Tuesday, May 20 from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Estimados Padres,

Feliz mes de Mayo y de antemano Feliz Dia de las Madres! Que bonito clima hemos tenido! Los pajaros cantan y los jugadores de los Rockies empiezan a jugar!

Por fabór sigan procurando que sus niños/as lleguen a tiempo a la escuela todos los dias, y listos para sus estudios. Nó dejen de leér con ellos.

Este será el ultimo boletín de este año escolar. Quiero tomar este momento para decirles lo mucho que aprecio a todos nuestros estudiantes y a todo el equipo de

nuestra escuela. He notado que nuestros padres también han formado una experiencia muy positiva en la educación de nuestros estudiantes. Estoy muy agradecida por todos nuestros voluntarios durante los exámenes de ACT, al igual con los Padres de SIT. No dejen de darme ideas de lo que quieren saber y de lo que nó. Estaré agradecida por sus comentarios. 

Por Fabór anoten que nuestra celebración de Noche de Aprendizaje será el Juevez Mayo 15. Nuestro Dia de Juegos (Field Day) será el Lunes Junio 2. El Sr. James enviará mas informes al acercarse la fecha. Espero que nos puedan acompañár en estos dos eventos!

Ha visto la página de los resultados de exámenes de CSAP del Tercer Grado? Parece que las calificaciónes indican que siguen siendo igual que el año pasado. Tomen en cuenta que cada año en el Tercer Grado, éste es un grupo de estudiantes nuevo y que éste es su primer experiencia con CSAP. Estas calificaciones nos indican en que áreas tendremos como maestros mejorár en nuestras enseñanzas, Los resultados de Matemáticas y Lectura para los grados 3,4 & 5 saldrán en Agosto.
